AquaPave® permeable concrete is a complete departure from standard practice in New Zealand. While conventional systems move water through pipes from large impermeable areas into narrow but deep retention ponds, AquaPave® keeps the water static, spread out, and shallow, in order to promote natural infiltration. This method infiltrates only a few centimetres of rain water in the basecourse and allows almost any rainstorm to fully draw down to the ground in less than 24 hours.
